a) Best Time

Autumn and spring seasons are the best times for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek because these seasons provide the most beautiful atmosphere in this journey compared to other seasons.

Autumn is the prime time to enjoy the blue clear skies, beautiful fresh forests, and snow-capped peaks with a warm and stable temperature. You can also be able to experience the major festivals like Dashain and Tihar, which fall during this season.

As with the other trekking destinations, the spring season is the best time to go trekking in Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. The heavenly landscape full of various colors and dry cool weather make it a perfect time for trekking.

b) Elevation and distance

In this Langtang Gosainkunda Trek, you will reach the highest altitude of 4620 meters when crossing through Laurebina La Pass (Gosainkunda Pass) from Gosainkunda to go to Ghopte Village. You’ll be above 3000 meters high from sea level when you stay overnight in destinations like Langtang Village (3430 meters), Kyanjin Gompa (3860 meters), Sing Gompa (3250 meters), and Gosainkunda (4380 meters).

Your trek starts in Syabrubesi and ends in Sundarijal. You have to trek a total length of around 123. 5 kilometers from the starting to the ending trekking point. On the 3rd day, you will take a local bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, covering 112 kilometers. Similarly, you need to walk an average of six hours daily on this journey.

c) Difficulty and altitude sickness

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a moderate-level challenging walk due to varied terrain and narrow ridges. You need to walk uphill as well as downhill on this journey, which can be very difficult if you are very new to the trekking world. As the average trekking hours are 6 hours regularly, you should at least be fit to complete this journey at ease; otherwise, it will be very challenging for you.

You have to trek above 3500 meters when hiking to Kyanjin Gompa, Gosainkunda, and crossing over the Laurebina La Pass. So, there may be a slight chance that you may suffer from altitude sickness; if necessary, precautions are not taken. Thus, you need to stay hydrated and be mentally strong to avoid altitude sickness.

d) Maximum and minimum walk per day

Your maximum walk per day will be six to seven hours on days 12 and 13 when trekking from Ghopte to Kutumsang and Kutumsang to Chisapani on this Langtang Gosainkunda Trek journey. Most of the days on this trip, you will walk 6 hours regularly to reach different villages where you will stay for the overnight.

Likewise, your minimum walk per day will be 3 hours on the second last day of your hiking journey when walking from Chisapani to Sundarijal. This will be the easiest day for the trekking without any physical demand for the trek. However, it is better to do training to enhance cardio and strength abilities.

e) Accommodation, Food and Drink

You need two cards, i.e., the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) Card as well as the Langtang National Park Entry Permit, for this Langtang Gosainkunda hike journey. For TIMS, you need to pay 18 dollars (or 2000 Nepalese rupees) individually.

Similarly, for the Langtang National Park Entry Permit, you need to give payment oftwenty-five dollars (or 3000 Nepalese rupees), while SAARC nationals will pay eleven dollars (or 1500 Nepalese rupees). You need to submit a photocopy of the passport of the last two passport-size photos to get permission.

h) Transportation

As for the transportation in this Langtang Gosainkunda Trek, we will pick you up on your first day in Nepal when you land in Kathmandu. On the second day, we will travel all around the major cultural heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley via our private vehicle.

We will go to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trekking experience, on the third day via a local bus in Kathmandu. After that, on day 14, we’ll drive from Sundarijal to Kathmandu. And we will take you to the airport on the last day. Our plan includes all of these transportation costs.
